What to expect

What HAPPENS DURING A SERVICE

We meet at 10am on Sundays, at the Sydenham Neighbourhood House. Every church is different in what they do when they gather.  At Brimbank Presbyterian Church we place an emphasis on the Bible and engaging with God.  You are invited to participate as much as you would like.

A typical church service has the following:

  • Singing

  • Readings from the Bible

  • A time of teaching from the Bible

  • Prayer to God for each other, the community and the world

  • Morning tea is served after the service

What to wear

Some people like to dress up a bit for Sunday while others dress pretty casually. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.

 LORD's supper & lunches

We share in the Lord's Supper (or Communion) on the first Sunday of the month.

On these Sundays we share in a meal together after the service.  Everyone is welcome to join us in this time of fellowship.

You won't be asked for money

It is our privilege and joy to have you with us for a church service.  We do not ask you to pay to hear the message of the freedom that Jesus brings!

 children

As a family of believers, we seek to include children by having children's songs, and activity sheets for children to do during the service.

Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
— Hebrews 13 1:2
